C-SPACE is a writing strategy that is used to write narrative paragraphs. It is an acronym for Characters, Setting, Problem/Purpose, Action, Conclusion, and Emotion. Students are guided to use this strategy through the help of a worksheet that lists each of the components. I think that this strategy outlines a clear plan for the student's story by having them list each of their components. It also allows the students to remember where the were if their work is interrupted.
I really like this strategy because it is not only useful for writing, but it can also be used when reading a complicated narrative text with several characters. The planning sheet allows the students to better organize their thoughts as they are writing/reading. It is also a way to get feedback from their classmates. Many times a reluctant writer is inspired when engaged in a conversation with their peers. After the first time using this strategy, I think that students are able to get the hang of it and improve their stories.

Good idea; any trick that helps jog their memory and produces better writing products is definitely worth trying. Graphic organizers are so helpful. I've never heard of this one; sounds interesting!

I think that is great strategy! I have actually used this before. I have so many struggling writers in my classroom. This really helps in breaking down each section of narrative writing.

This strategy would definitely help struggling writers just like what Candace said. It would help them organize their thoughts because a lot of times students who have trouble writing lose their focus and need this guidance to help them!!
