Children's Poetry-Krystal Stewart

All Things Bright and Beautiful

~Cecil Frances Alexander

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

The purple-headed mountain,
The river running by,
The sunset, and the morning,
That brightens up the sky;

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell,
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

This is a wonderful peom. I absolutly love it. One of the poetry elements that I like is how every other line rhymes. I feel that poems are easier to read and capture the attention of the reader esp. children when they rhyme. I also like how this poem includes imagery. I feel that I see what the poet is writing about.

I really like this poem. I like how it gives God credit for making all things and making them all beautiful. It adresses people, animals, and the beautiful land in which we live.

I got this from google.com
