For my staff development I plan to focus on literacy stations, especially activities that students can do while the teachers is involved with a reading group. I think a lot of early grades teachers are hesitant to do stations because they are unsure of how to manage the stations and what activities the kids can do when they are not in a reading group. The staff development will focus on specific tasks that are age appropriate and useful for students, management of the centers and how to start the stations in your classroom. The workshop will be geared towards K-2 teachers.
