what is a name? and learning the alphabet cheryl Serrill

My staff development workshop is going to focus on the importance for Kindergarten students to learn their name and why it is important. The workshop will engage the participants in activities to use in their classroom to help students learn their name and the names of their classmates. I will show how learning names begins to build a solid foundation for alphabet knowledge. I will use strategies and lessons that focus on these skills and integrate higher thinking math skills into several lessons simulataneously.
